Are LED lights really more energy efficient than incandescent and fluorescent li

It’s often heard that LED lights are more energy-efficient than fluorescent and incandescent lights in the past, but why do my lamps consume so much power? I once tried to cut off the power of all electrical appliances and turn on the lights for 5 hours continuously. The meter showed that it consumed 3 kWh.

The fact is here, can LED lights really save electricity? The answer is: it saves electricity!

Does LED light save electricity?

Before discussing the issue of power saving, we must first determine what "power saving" is.

"Power saving" in the narrow sense refers to "low power consumption." The same is open for 1 hour, you consume 1 kWh of electricity, I consume 2 kWh, you save electricity than mine.

But on electrical appliances, especially in spoken language, the meaning of "power saving" has changed. We usually call "high efficiency" "power saving".

For example, if two people move bricks, A ate 1 steamed bun and moved 10 bricks; B ate 2 steamed buns and moved 30 bricks. Although B eats more steamed buns than A, B is more efficient, so B is said to be "more power-efficient."

The same is true for lamps. LED lamps "save power" because they are more efficient. With the same brightness of light, the power consumption of LED lamps is lower than that of fluorescent lamps and incandescent lamps. Consuming the same amount of power, the light emitted by LED lamps is brighter than fluorescent lamps and incandescent lamps.

So the key lies in "brightness"! The reason why we feel that today's LED lights are not enough to save power is because we have a high demand for brightness. At night, every house is bright as daylight, and power consumption is naturally high. If you want to use incandescent lamps and fluorescent lamps to achieve the same brightness, I am afraid that more electricity will be consumed.

After talking about the luminous body (LED), let's talk about the design of the lamp. The design defect of the lamp will affect the brightness of the lamp. In order to obtain brighter lamps, we must replace brighter luminaires, which consume more electricity. To put it bluntly, it is "wrong design, so that the light emitted by the lamp is wasted, reducing the efficiency of the lamp".
